PG Legal has welcomed tax solicitor Simon Briton, who has 20 years of specialist experience in tax law. His new role will see him support the growth of business clients through the use of tax incentives, working closely with local accountants and financial advisers to support their work.
Simon joins PG Legal following a successful career across several high profile law and accountancy firms, both locally and nationally, including, Ward Hadaway, Bird and Bird and KPMG. Simon is an active member of the region’s innovation community and recently led a successful Innovate UK backed knowledge transfer partnership on the future of technology in legal services.
PG Legal director Phil Dean said: “We are really proud that Simon has joined us; with his wealth of experience in the tax sector, he is a true expert in his field. Simon has a great reputation as one of the leading advisors on tax law for technology and innovation-led businesses and joining our team reinforces our growth in those sectors.
“Our priority is to build great relationships with our clients, and Simon’s personable approach makes him the perfect fit for our team. We endeavour to not only be lawyers, but to be business advisers who offer a holistic approach to assisting the region’s SMEs. We want to ensure our local businesses are safeguarded by taking away any legal issues before they even occur.”
Having invested in a brand refresh and new commercial premises, the firm is dedicated to growth and expanding its services and client base.
Simon said: “I am delighted to join such a strong firm to help with its drive into new sectors.
“PG Legal stands out as a law firm that genuinely adds value to its clients through its work, and the ability to add tax advice into the mix makes this a really strong offering, unlike that of any other similar sized law firm in the region. It is that desire to improve our clients’ position that attracted me to the firm.”
