Jonathan is an experienced adviser to businesses  and business owners in relation to sales and purchases of businesses, their structure and the relationships between directors, partners and shareholders.

Jonathan is also an accomplished litigator accustomed to resolving disputes across the full spectrum of commercial litigation including Companies Act claims, professional negligence, sale of goods disputes, breach of director’s duty and post termination restraint claims, disputes with agricultural and equine links and intellectual property disputes.

Jonathan’s advice is outcome focused and client centred.  Jonathan is accustomed to using all potential avenues of dispute resolution including formal and informal mediation, negotiation, arbitration and adjudication towards achieving an agreed outcome.

Richard completed his Law Society Finals at Northumbria University before returning to Teesside to conduct his articles in 1993.

Richard completed his Law Society Finals at Northumbria University before returning to Teesside to conduct his articles in 1993. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 and became a Partner at Freers in 1999 where he worked as a Criminal Advocate and Duty Solicitor. He was instructed in many serious nationally high profile cases including the ground-breaking grievous bodily harm case, R v Konzani  [2005] All ER (D) 292 (Mar). Richard became a Director at Freers Askew Bunting in 2016 before joining PG Legal as a Director in 2019.

Richard specialises in complex commercial and domestic property matters. His clients include developers, building and construction companies, Education Foundations, Charities, Wildlife Trusts, Incorporated Sporting Private Members Clubs, Accountants, Estate Agents and Surveyors, Laboratories, Haulage Companies, Restaurateurs, Publicans and Nightclub owners and professional landlords in a wide variety of property and business transactions. He has a broad knowledge of Land Law and has experience of conducting cases before the Lands Tribunal and Judicial Review proceedings in the Administrative Court.

Richard also assists private individuals with future planning, complex wills, trusts, powers of attorney and pension schemes.

Richard is a member of the Law Society’s Management, Property and Private Client Sections.

Damian Robson

Joined the firm in July 2017 to head up the employment business support team.

Damian qualified as as solicitor in 2003 specialising in Employment Law and joined EEF. In this role he worked alongside HR Managers which helped him understand the practical issues they face on a day to day basis. At EEF he gained valuable experience working with companies in achieving commercial, practical and pragmatic solutions. Additionally he was able to rapidly develop knowledge and experience of Tribunal advocacy representing member companies throughout the UK.

In 2006 Damian joined Dickinson Dees (now Womble Bond Dickinson) and further developed the skills and experience he had gained at EEF. During his time at Dickinson Dees he developed a wider appreciation of the various legal issues involved in commercial transactions and a greater understanding of the level of client support. Damian then joined Ward Hadaway and increased his involvement in Employment Tribunal litigation developing his role to that of the in-house team advocate.

Damian’s specialities include Employment Tribunal litigation, Collective Consultation, Disciplinary and Grievance management support and advice.

An experienced legal secretary, Claire is PA to Jonathan Fletcher and provides valuable support to the litigation team. She has successfully undertaken a Civil Litigation Practice course and has become a member of The Institute of Legal Secretaries.

Outside of work Claire is an active fundraiser for various charities and a volunteer within a number of community groups.
